Jessica Lee, violin

Jessica Lee, the first-prize winner of the 2005 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, has given debut recitals at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, Weill Hall, Ravinia’s Rising Stars Series, and the Phillips Collection, and has made festival appearances at places including Bridgehampton, Santa Fe, and Seoul Spring. Last season marked her European solo debut, featuring a concerto performance with the Plzen Philharmonic and a recital at the Rudolfinum in Prague. Her 2006 concerto debut at Alice Tully Hall featured Beethoven’s Violin Concerto which was broadcast on WQXR. She is a member of the Johannes String Quartet, which toured with the Guarneri Quartet in its farewell season. She has performed with Musicians from Marlboro at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and is a member of the prestigious Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Two. She has performed with such orchestras as the Modesto Symphony, Gangnam Symphony at the Seoul Arts Center, American Chamber Orchestra, the Richmond Symphony, and the New York String Orchestra. A native of Virginia, she entered the Curtis Institute of Music at age 14 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree under the tutelage of Robert Mann and Ida Kavafian. She completed her studies for a master of music degree at the Juilliard School.
